Diegem, 8th April 2003. ABB Building Services, a division of ABB Building Systems, assures the upkeep of the colocation centre of LCL Telehousing (http://www.lcl.be) in Diegem (Belgium) from 15th May 2003. ABB was chosen among three companies after vast selection procedures.

ABB was chosen taking into account its experience in the management of similar buildings. The colocation centre extends over 947 m² of IT rooms with advanced security techniques in cooling, power back-up (UPS and generators) and guarding. 55 % of the total surface of the building has been let.

The companies that are active in the fields of web site hosting, telecommunications and Internet services attach the highest importance to electrical power supply and air-conditioning. LCL aims at the creation of a "market place" that allows operators and service providers to interconnect in a neutral manner and to exchange traffic. As LCL Telehousing is established on top of a large number of pan-European fibre optic networks, it is possible to connect to the fastest IP services (IP-Transit), to transatlantic connections, to local loops (for example SDSL) as well as to various voice networks.
